As part of a selection of birthday celebrations, Hog Roast Chalvington was hired to provide catering for Helen’s 50th birthday meal. Her family had organised a weekend away for the birthday girl, full of fun things to do and see, followed by a big birthday meal the day of her return. The catering needed to be formal and delicious, suitable for 75 guests, and versatile enough for guests of all ages. After discussing the menus that we have to offer, our catering manager Adam suggested that a formal dining package was the ideal choice.
The event was hosted in a beautifully decorated marquee, with Hog Roast Chalvington setting up a serving on-site. As the guests arrived at the venue, they were greeted by delicious canapés and a drinks service to start the evening. This was a wonderful introduction to our style of catering and set a formal and elegant tone for the evening.
Once the guests were seated, they enjoyed a classic Hog Roast Chalvington main course of a slow-roasted hog served with all of the trimmings. For vegetarian guests, we provided BBQ pulled jackfruit, which is a delicious alternative. Alongside the mains, we prepared a selection of seasonal vegetables, homemade chips, and sage and onion stuffing.
To finish the catering, guests chose from profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding, each served with fresh fruit and English cream. This created a dish that looked and tasted delicious and was the perfect way to end the catering.
