There’s no better way to mark a milestone birthday than with incredible food – and that’s exactly what we delivered at a recent 50th birthday celebration here in Sussex! The Spitting Pig Sussex team were thrilled to serve our ever-popular Southern Slow Roast Menu, bringing bold flavours, tender meats, and a true taste of the American South to the party.
Our birthday guests were treated to a mouth-watering trio of dishes: BBQ Pork Butt, Texan 24-Hour Beef Brisket, and Cajun Spiced Chickens, each slow-cooked to perfection by our expert chefs. The irresistible aromas filled the venue as guests tucked into succulent, smoky meats, served with soft bread rolls and wraps, including gluten-free options for those who needed them.
To add even more flavour, we offered a selection of our homemade sauces, including a Smokey Sweet BBQ Glaze, Cajun Hot Pepper Sauce (for those who like it fiery!), and our Legendary Hickory Bourbon BBQ Sauce. Each sauce perfectly complemented the rich, slow-roasted meats and added that signature Southern kick.
Of course, we also provided delicious vegetarian and vegan options, ensuring everyone could enjoy the feast. We had our Grilled Vegetable and Halloumi Skewers with zesty tzatziki and sweet chilli sauce, as well as our hearty Pulled Jackfruit Buns steeped in smoky BBQ sauce.
To complete the spread, guests chose from a tempting range of side dishes, including Mac & Cheese, Corn Cobettes, and Home-Made Gourmet Coleslaw , all beautifully presented on bamboo crockery with eco-friendly wooden cutlery.
The food went down a treat, and the birthday celebrations continued well into the evening, with plenty of happy guests coming back for seconds! It was a real pleasure for our team to be part of such a special occasion.
