A local school in Sussex wanted to do something different for their school reunion this year, which was being hosted to mark 10 years since the graduating class of ’13. The event was set to take place in the sports hall at the school, with Hog Roast Barcombe being hired to provide the catering. Good food is essential at this kind of event as it can be a great way to break the ice and provides a great talking point for the evening. For this event, our catering manager Adam was hired to serve a classic hog roast to the guest, with a veggie and gluten-free option on offer upon request. The catering would be a great addition to the entertainment of the evening, which was a band popular in Sussex during the early 2010s. Overall, the event was set to be a lot of fun!
On the day of the reunion, the Hog Roast Barcombe team arrived at the school with plenty of time to prepare for the 8:00pm mealtime. We began by roasting the hog, which was prepared on site to ensure maximum freshness and flavour with every slice. For meat-free guests, we also prepared BBQ pulled jackfruit, which is a delicious veggie dish. The mains were served in fresh bread rolls, with a gluten-free option also on offer, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alongside the mains, we also served homemade chips and a variety of salad dishes to create a varied and nutritious meal.
